4 Mandatory Questions to Ask When Buying a Used Car

We all might come to a point in our lives where we might be considering buying a used car. These are some of the mandatory questions you should get an answer to first before actually buying it. Failure to ask these questions could result in a headache sale.

Do you have the car title?

Asking where the car title is paramount especially in a situation where you are buying the car from a private seller. Most dealers have it filed away in the office or with the bank who is giving financing to supply that particular dealership with inventory funding.

What sort of history does the car have?

This another paramount question that needs to be answered. If you come across a deal that is too good to be true, try to find out why. If the car has been in a major crash, even if it is repaired, structurally it might be weak.

Even if it is not, you might end up having trouble getting it insured. Also, make sure you are buying it from the legitimate owners and not from some carjacker that’s trying to sell you a lemon and run off with your money.

Are all the papers in order?

Make sure that the VIN numbers match the car title of the car in question. Under no circumstances buy a car without proper papers as you might be entering into something shady and pull a load of unnecessary trouble on yourself.

If you want to find out if a particular vehicle you’re about to buy is stolen,  just grab the VIN Off the car in question and punch the VIN on this website and wait for the results.

What’re the last 3 repairs that were done on the car?

If you’re buying a vehicle that has over 100,000 miles, this question a must. This question will allow you to have a mental gauge on what may possibly break next and what repairs that were already done.
