Aston Martin has issued a recall for a number of vehicles in its DBS and Vanquish lines, over fears a battery cable may be damaged by the seat runners. Cars affected by the recall was built between 16 September 2010 and 17 February 2016.
VIN range of SCFXXXXXXX02484 and SCFXXXXXXX02757.
The anomaly that was detected was in the driver’s seat. It appears that the battery supply cable is compressed by the seat runner, leading to increasing temperature and eventually into overheat.
If the battery cable is continuously compressed, the insulation on the cable may become damaged. This will cause short circuit between the cable and the runner which may create a potential source for fire.
Move battery cable out of contact of seat slider and protect it insulation.
